Story of AC Paws Rescue: By Puppies, For Humans

Our Human-Daddy, Szebastian Onne has been adopting paws since a very young age. At first his human-mommy was very scared of dogs and cats but when Scotch, their first Paw-Baby was rescued from the street along with 5 other litter in heavily infested condition full of worms, ticks and mites – she could not say no to at least try and rescue. Sadly, Scotch was the only one that survived but with weaker front-limbs. Nonetheless, he was cleaned, treated, and lived a beautiful life of a Prince in 3-S Household (as we puppies call it) for 1.5 decades.

Whiskey, entered 3-S Household when Scotch was about 4 years old and she also lived a pampered life for about 16 years. She was the most favorite of Szebastian’s human-mommy (remember, who was once scared of dogs).

With time, Szebastian adopted and semi-adopted several paws across Australia and India. Around 4 years ago, Chocolaite was adopted along with his sister Ed-Lai. Sadly Ed-Lai passed-on in 8th week due to complications. Chocolaite was about 1 year when Appleite was rescued from a very abusive human-parent. She was in bad shape, scared, nervous, anxious and defensive. It was not easy but with love Szebastian managed to earn her trust. Sadly, she could survive only 2 more years and died at a young age of 3.5 due to various medical complications arising out of her pre-rescue abuse. Though, she was treated like a queen by the household.

Currently, Chocolaite and his adopted son Cider live together and are running ACPawsRescue originally named after Appleite and Chocolaite. ACPawsRescue feeds around 28-30 homeless dogs on daily basis on the streets of India. They also have 8 rescue-pets across Australia and India. On top of that, from time to time, Szebastian sponsors treatments, vaccination and surgeries for homeless paw-babies when he can.

So that’s who we are, what we do and why we do it!

BTW: Appleite and Chocolaite is prounounced as Applay and Chocolatte he he he!

It is so sad to see unwanted, badly treated pets. It is great what AC Paws- Rescue is doing. We fully support dog rescue in our family and love knowing others do as well.

I am so glad you have and continue to give so many wonderful pets a home! We have Wednesday and Pugsley at home. My fiance found them on the streets of Los Angeles and adopted them. I can’t imagine my life without them (and I don’t want to!)

I loved your post. Sadly, there are still a lot of people who buy pets but don’t take care of them properly. You and your human parents are doing great job.

That is true and sad – breeding and selling should be illegal. This human-parent thanks you from his heart for your kind words.

I love all rescue stories. Our first family dog was a black lab mix. We sadly had to let him go but will always love him.

You are so kind. And sincerely thank you for working with fur-persons without any borders. You are so right, it does not get easier but the good thing is we are doing the right thing and that is the best we can do. I could literally adopt 100000 dogs if it were possible!

This is such great work! Both of our dogs and our two cats were rescue animals. Our male cat Char was the only one that seemed to have any health issues and died at age 6 or 7 for unknown reasons, but I think it might have been tooth related. Our dogs are the only ones that live with us now, our second cat lives with my mom out in the country since the dogs and cat didn’t get along. They are amazing pets and have wonderful personality and they didn’t cost us hundreds of dollars to get. There are so many good animals in need of a home, so always adopt!

You are so right Brittany, why pay when you can adopt, and literally spread joy to the deserving fur-persons. I am sorry to hear about Char but glad he got to be pampered in your family. Do introduce your pets on ACPawsRescue Facebook page given above if you get a chance. Chocolaite and Chider will truly love it!

We adopted our dog from a rescue center. He is a member of our family and I’ve always advocated adopting rescue animals for every family.
